For my degree I need only two WRD classes. English class and
writing have always been more of a chore to me, but I must admit I enjoy
reflective writing to an extent. This class exceeded all my expectations while
having a greater workload than I anticipated. I enjoyed how the class made me
think.
It was not without its challenges. I had to learn to have
long flowing writing. I had not previously written more than four pages in a
paper so these new assignments challenged me to extend the limits of my writing
abilities.
Even though this was not my easiest class, I still found
success in some areas. The documentary that I made was interesting and
meaningful to accomplish. It helped me connect with the community and gave me a
greater appreciation for those who make videos on a regular basis.
The most important part of this class in my opinion was how
it makes you think. I was introduced to new people and to how the world works a
little more. This class he,ps reinforce how mankind is similar despite the
differences in ways of life. It has taught me that life is more than what I’m
presented with from other people and the media. People are not always portrayed
as they are in reality and deserve respect.
